ABOUT KONA KAI

Where Community, Comfort, and Connection Thrive – Kona Kai Swim & Racquet Club

HiSTORY OF KONA KAI CLUB

Kona Kai Swim & Racquet Club was founded in 1958 by nine founding members. They purchased 2.738 acres of cherry orchards and built a hidden oasis for families looking for community, sports, and relaxation. The name Konakai has Polynesian origins and is commonly found in Hawaii. It translates as “sea spray” or “white ocean wave” in Hawaiian. The founding members translated it as “Soft Winds”.

Kona Kai Community Traditions

A strong sense of community has always been at the heart of Kona Kai. Our Friday
barbecues, in particular, have a long and rich history, evolving significantly since the
club’s establishment.

Evolving Kona Kai Experience

The clubhouse and pool have been transformed over the years, reflecting our commitment to
enhancing your experience since our early days.

Kona Kai’s 1960s Transformation

In the 1960s, a new and improved Kona Kai Swim and Racquet Club was designed with
the assistance of a hired architect.
